The Loss and Damage caused by climate change have a direct relationship with Climate (In) justice. A side event during the informal SB52 negotiations of the UNFCCC.

Latin America feels the impacts of climate change in delays to its development, the destruction of its well-being, and loss of life and destruction of its ecosystems. However, those responsible are absent and the communities face the damages and losses alone.

The impacts of climate change are rooted in injustice and irresponsibility. The international community, after decades of climate negotiation, remains silent and systematically avoids assuming its share of responsibility for the damages and losses caused. That is why, given the current climate crisis, our region must take common positions on this issue.

The event will have simultaneous translation into French, English and Portuguese.
