COP28 JUSTICE? LOSS AND DAMAGE

A Participatory Dialogue on Justice and Responsibility

The Loss and Damage Fund represents an opportunity to ensure climate justice reaches the most vulnerable countries, which have contributed the least to the impacts of climate change. However, how can climate justice be reflected in the Loss and Damage Fund decided at COP28? To explore this question NGOs from the US and Latin America are organizing a sincere, open and engaging dialogue on justice.

This participatory dialogue seeks to generate a regional discussion between Latin American and US NGOs on what addressing loss and damage from a justice and rights-based perspective means. Activists and advocates from US and Latin American and Caribbean civil society organizations will have the opportunity to share their experiences and positions on what a loss and damage narrative built on justice looks like.

If you are attending COP28 and your organization is from the Americas, then this is meeting for you!
